Taking traffic to your website is not an easy task. We cannot say it is a difficult but long and tedious process. It takes time. And that is what we must understand. The SEO of a website includes the search made on the search engine. Users may look for images, videos, books, news, and more. And there are diverse strategies that, put together, can give excellent results. Basically, SEO is the process through which website owners get traffic.  

How Did SEO Start?

This SEO practice started in the 90s, after the creation of the World Wide Web. Although the phrase Search Engine Optimization started by the end of the decade. The addresses of a page on the web, the URL, needed to be submitted to several engines to crawl the page. The next step was to extract the links and return the information so it could be indexed.

Unfortunately, the web was stuffed with data manipulation to provide results, which meant that when someone was looking for something specific, it may take the user to the wrong place. Search engines should provide high-quality results to gain popularity. And guess who got the trophy?


The company was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. At that time, the two university students created the search engine Backrub.

Backrub was based on a mathematical algorithm.

Suddenly, the websites started exchanging links, transporting users from one site to the other on the internet.

By 2005, Google decided to customize the results for its users, and its web activity came to life. The rest is history.

There is On-page and Off-page SEO. On-page is what occurs on your website, while off-page refers to what happens outside. The following features are what it takes to be ranked on the main search engine:

  • Domain-Level Keyword Agnostic – domain name, HTTP response time.


Like any other activity developed by human beings, it all gets to an end. When the activity of SEO appeared, web users intended to take advantage of using not-so-honest practices. Over the years, the world of the internet achieved the balance and the order needed for us to enjoy our virtual experience. There is still much to do, but at least, when we are looking for something on the internet, it is most likely that we will get where we should.
